Acanthus mollis is commonly known as Bear's Breeches. It is a vigorous perennial plant with large, glossy dark green leaves that pinnately lobed. It flowers in late summer, tall racemes of white flowers with dusky purple bracts. It provides good structure in a herbaceous border and also would blend well in a more tropical based planting theme.
