Award winning popular Japanese Maple. Feathered lobed leaves are yellow-orange in spring, turn lush green in the summer then soft yellow in the Autumn. Its young branches are coral red making a striking display even when the branches are bare in winter. (AGM 1993). Acers are slow growing, reaching their eventual height in ten years. Sango-kaku can grow up to 5m, spread 3m. 40cm plants supplied.

Plant acers in well-drained soil that is moist and rich. Add plenty of compost to lock in moisture and make sure the ground doesn't dry out. Cover the ground with a deep mulch of compost or leaf mould. This retains moisture and prevents weeds from growing.
